The Shadow

Written by Rebekah King

Music by George W. Parris

Directed by Callie Nestleroth

Run Time:

30 minutes (no interval)

Playwright Rebekah King and composer George Parris explore music's agency as a narrative device through the work and life of Hans Christian Andersen. Splicing Anderson's fairytale The Shadow with a biopic snippet of his uninvited visit to the residence of the Dickens family, this brand-new piece of theatre traverses themes of isolation, obsession and the power of music, poetry and the arts.

Directed by Callie Nestleroth and with a cast of actors and on-stage musicians, The Shadow aims to push the boundaries of theatre, music and storytelling in a thrilling evening of theatre.
